Dressing For Your Body Type

Does wedding dress shopping make you want to pull your hair out, or run for the hills? Are you so stressed out about finding the perfect dress, you can't sleep at night. First, calm down, take a breath, and read this article! Finding a wedding dress is a stressful experience, but it is one that you will remember forever. You want to include a select few when shopping for the most important dress of your life.

Keep in mind your body type when looking at gowns and also your height.Height plays a major factor in what you can wear on your wedding day, so be mindful of that. If you are on the shorter side, avoid large ball gown shapes, they will inevitably make you look shorter. Even though you might want to rock a princess ball gown with seven inch heels, you might want to pass. If you are short, consider a couple things: heel height, comfort ability, and slim line gowns. Believe it or not, slim line gowns actually make your body look longer which can help you tremendously. Keep in mind when purchasing heels, that you need comfortable heels, not just pretty ones. You don't want to change your heels in the middle of the night. If you are on the taller side, you are in luck, pretty much every silhouette will look stunning on you. Maybe you can give some height to some of our shorter brides? When looking at heels, consider flats, sandals or kitten heels. If you are more of a curvy bride, stay away from a ball gown if you can. Most ball gowns are made of tulle, and can make you look wider than you really are, which is not what you want on your wedding day.Look for gowns that have lots of ruching, and even a corset back. If purchasing a gown with a corset, be sure to take a look at the back of the gown to avoid picture disaster later on down the road. Choosing a figure flattering look is easy, once you have decided what you are looking for. Be sure to ask your bridal consultant's opinion, and ask for suggestions. Keep an open mind when shopping for your wedding gown, and remember to have fun.
