Emily and Pierre's Magical Fairy-Tale Wedding

The Bachelor’s Emily Simms Gets Her Magical Fairy Tale Wedding

October 24, 2018

One of the bachelorettes from “The Bachelor” show, Emily Simms, recently married her Prince Charming Pierre Ghougassian in August. While she didn’t find love on “The Bachelor,” it worked out in the end! We’re excited to share her story and show you the incredible images from her fairy tale day!

Emily and Pierre met at a trendy bar on St. Kilda beach, Australia through one of Emily’s friends and bridesmaids. He proposed on Valentine’s Day by suggesting that they get a nice photo in front of a restaurant before dinner, because it was his birthday. They asked a nice passerby if they could take a photo for them and while they were posing, he turned and proposed.  Above all, they have images and video to remember that special moment!

The Details

The couple chose a glamours antique style for their wedding planning. They created simple garlands down the long tables at the reception arrangements around the welcome sign, seating chart, bar and wedding cake. Emily wanted to stick with a glamours, old-world theme. Everything was white, cream, soft pinks and rich, deep pinks – no blacks! The cutlery, the napkins, everything just worked exactly the way she had hoped it would.

Emily wore an incredible gown designed and made by Tanya Didenko Bridal Couture. Tanya has made Emily some stunning dresses to wear to various events over the past few years, so it was a no brainer that she went to her for her wedding dress. She was lucky enough to provide the designer with photos of different designs that she liked and didn’t have to try a single dress on. The result was an incredible gown and it all worked really well.

The groomsmen’s suits were made by Remy, because he is actually Pierre’s youngest brother. The bridesmaids’ dresses were all designed by Love Honor. Emily sent them a number of inspirational shots, and they made them exactly as they discussed. Because of that, they fit the girls perfectly.

The florist, Foxy Evergreen, designed a unique bouquet for Emily.  She asked that they avoid roses and requested phalaenopsis orchids in a magenta hue. All whites, soft pinks, deep pinks and lots of greenery. She also asked for a cascading sort of look. The final product was perfect!

For their guest’s dessert, they chose to go with a cake but decided on two different layers – vanilla citrus and vanilla berry. They opted against chocolate, as they had some chocolate and coffee dessert canapés as well. The cake’s design was a white rendered cake with a gold for on the top and bottom tier. Nikos Cakes guided them to a 3-tier cake, mostly because both Emily and Pierre are quite tall. It was a great suggestion and because they went that route, it looked great in their photos.

Advice from the Bride

The highlight of the day for both of them, was when they first saw each other down the aisle. Another great memory for Emily was when her Dad was walking her down the aisle.

Her best advice to future brides: “make sure you know what you want, before you go talking to suppliers. Scour the net, Pinterest etc, for inspo. If you don’t know exactly what you are after, then I feel this is where confusion can start to creep in, and you become unsure if you’ve chosen the right thing or not. You need to be clear and concise, so that you don’t feel disappointed on your big day. Think about yours and your partner’s taste, and try your best to emulate that on your wedding day.”

Congratulations Emily and Pierre, we hope you have an incredible life together!
