Inspiration can come from just about anything and wedding photos are no different! Taking a cue from imagery of Audrey Hepburn, Marilyn Monroe and the photography of Horst P Horst from the 50’s and 60’s eras, photographer Jacqulyn Hamilton created this “movie star” photo shoot in London at the Capron House (part of the Cowdray Estate). The absolutely beautiful and ‘quintessentially English’ Capron House used to be the town’s Grammar School and had the famous writer HG Wells in attendance.
Hamilton was inspired by the stunning location and the floor-to-ceiling windows of The Pearson Room. The Colonial style artwork on the walls (Viscountess Cowdray’s Grandfather, Alistair Maynard MBE painted them himself inspired by his time spent in India) set the color palette perfectly. The stunning, original marble fireplace was adorned with the most vibrant and colourful floral designs by Lydie Dalton creating a vibrant backdrop.
Hamilton drew upon images that she had studied of Audrey Hepburn when she modeled bridal gowns for Givenchy along with the photography of Horst P. Horst (Mainbocher Corset) to create this classical and glamorous look. Her model Layla wears a stunning corseted fishtail dress from Morilee by Madelaine Gardner (5108) and completely recreates the elegance and style of Audrey Hepburn in this dress – its figure hugging bodice and fishtail create the most elegant of feminine shapes. Layla was also shot reclining on the incredible antique chaise owned by Cowdray House – exactly what you would expect from the Lady of the Manor!
Layla’s hair and make up drew on the classic designs of 50’s and 60’s elegance making her looks the epitome of beauty and class.
